He is Our Witness

John 3:1-16

"I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven - the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but not have eternal life.'" (v. 11-16)

Most, if not all, are skeptics. We will only believe it is "proven", or if we witness it ourselves. Our heavenly Father knew this about us, and because of his immense unconditional love for us, He sent His Son to die for us. However, let us not also remove the significance as to His life on earth. His time on earth was very critical because it helped establish the "proof" or "witness" of His being the Son of God. Otherwise, His death would also be insignificant because many would not believe. There was no other reason for His entering the world as a baby, growing up into adulthood, and working for a living other than being an example and especially being a witness to us. Therefore, it is both His life and death that is our witness to God's love. Let us also now share through our testimony of His great love!

Lord, help me make my witness clear
And labor faithfully,
So friends and neighbors turn to Christ
Through what they hear from me. —Anon.

We plant the seed; God gives the harvest.
